Yachiru Unohana in a flashback

Bleach‘s Thousand Years of Blood War The plot has many incredible secrets and plots for both its heroes and villains. Original The manga was a bit rushed, however, and failed to expand on some key plot points – but the anime has no such issues. End TIBW Anime episodes are finally released Bleach What were the fans waiting for?

This latest arc features several cut-out scenes from the manga, beginning with the direct flashback of Tier Harribel’s defeat at the hands of Yhwach in Hueco Mundo. More recently, Chapter 7 revealed the original Gotei 13 Captains who helped Yamamoto defeat Yhwach’s army 1,000 years ago. These captains are long gone, which has contributed to the current crisis. Bleach‘s story.

The Brutality of Yamamoto’s Original Gotei 13 Crew

this Bleach The manga briefly touched upon Yamamoto’s original team of 13 captains, with Quincy king Yhwach describing them as a team of uniformed rogue killers and violent criminals. Only one hazy panel in the manga depicted these original Captains, but the anime adaptation does more. The first scene of Episode 7 finally revealed these original 13 Soul Reaper Captains in battle against Yhwach and his Quincy army. It was a vicious and one-sided affair, with a younger Yamamoto and his ruthless allies brutally slaughtering Quincy. Even Chojiro Sasakibe was a reckless beast that stabbed Yhwach in the back as he screamed with bloodlust.

This is a fascinating insight into how Gotei 13 got started, and it helps to remind. Bleach Fans of why Yhwach and his Sternritter want revenge so badly. Quincy was defeated by the Soul Reapers both in this war and in another war that took place 200 years ago. BleachThe main events in which the Quincy tribe was nearly destroyed both times. They and the Soul Reapers don’t get along despite having the Hollows as their common enemy, and the Soul Reapers even destroyed Quincy to prevent the soul cycle from collapsing.

The actions of the Soul Reapers were on some level justified, especially since Quincy refused to cooperate and change their ways. But in light of the carnage that occurred 1,000 years ago, fans can understand why Quincy so despised the Soul Reapers; it also explains why the modern Sternritter ruthlessly used every advantage they had to win the new war. But even if Yamamoto’s rogue team of 13 captains had won the war 1,000 years ago, they were doomed from start to finish. They could either fight as villains or die as heroes, and Yamamoto knew which one he preferred.

The Inevitable Apocalypse of Yamamoto’s Soul Reapers

Yamamoto and his rogue allies, including Captain Unohana, declared victory over Yhwach on that turnaround. But in the long run, it was the Soul Reapers who really faced a lose-lose situation. As fierce savages, they possessed the necessary strength to protect Soul Society from absolutely any threat, but such people were borderline villains, and this could be terrifying for the citizens. Yamamoto knew this, so he softened the Soul Reapers and preferred peace, justice, and restraint over pure power. This bore fruit for a while as Soul Society became a stable and comfortable place of peace, prosperity and sophisticated culture. The Soul Reapers have enjoyed centuries of victories, but that didn’t last long.

Yamamoto and his Captains were unable to finish Quincy, meaning they were setting themselves up for Soul Society’s current Wandenreich. Worse still, the peace-loving Soul Reapers are so indifferent and proud, they have long since lost the need for the ferocity of the original Captains. This leaves them vulnerable to Quincy and puts Yamamoto in an impossible position: he must either persecute Soul Society with evil Captains who can fend off Quincy at great cost, or make Soul Society a wonderful but vulnerable place to live. Can’t find a real solution by itself so someone else has to do it.

This dilemma only applies to Soul Reapers. Outsiders like hero Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends could potentially defeat Wandenreich without having to pay for the Soul Reapers’ mistakes, and the horribly brutal nature of the original captains is not Ichigo’s problem. Yamamoto has fallen in battle due to his hopeless dilemma, so it’s up to Ichigo to find a new path and bring true peace. Bleach‘s world.
