The new tool, according to Google, includes illustrations depicting various cultures, interests, and origins. In addition, the photos will be editable for users according to their choices.
“To provide everyone additional safe, creative, and unique options for profile photographs, we’re introducing new Google Illustrations,” Google writes on its blog. Google Illustrations are a set of customizable images that anyone can use to create an image that will represent them across all Google products.”
How to customize a Google Account using Google Illustrations?
Google is attempting to reach out to those who choose to leave their profile photographs empty instead of displaying an image that reflects them within its services.
The new function will only be available in the Gmail app for Android devices until the end of the year. After that, the company will then extend this new capability to its other applications.
After entering Gmail, open the profile selector in the top right corner and click on the avatar to use this feature. Then you’ll notice a camera icon, which you should click. It will allow you to select a different picture as your avatar and provide additional Google Illustrations options.
As stated previously, Google is planning to increase the use of this new tool across more platforms, namely, offering new avatars to iOS users.
