On Tuesday, the Destiny 2 community was finally welcomed with weeks of previously reported community activity thanks to datamines. The “Healing the Eliskni Neighborhoods” event was supposed to run until December 6th and was giving the Guardians something to do before the start of Season 19. But instead of two weeks, the event lasted a little over a day thanks to an exploit.
Upgrading the Eliksni neighborhoods involved collecting Captain Coins from various events. However, after the first two upgrades for the event were unlocked, the chest in Eliksni Neighborhood started accepting Treasure Coordinates and Map Fragments as well as Captain Coins. This seems to be part of Bungie’s event plan, but what wasn’t part of the plan was a glitch that allowed the Guardians to reach the infinite Treasure Coordinates.
The problem is relatively simple: just open the donation chest, open your Captain Atlas in the quest menu, insert the Rumored Treasure Map, and then replace it with any other high-cost map. Then keep them back and form swapping to keep earning more Treasure Coordinates. Repeat until that phase of the task is complete.
As many Guardians were aware of the glitch, this phase of the community event was completed within hours, followed by a phase that allowed Guardians to donate planetary supplies instead of Coins. And since most Guardians had tons of planetary stuff around (or could easily get some from Raul), all community activity was over by the time it was reset on Wednesday.
And that could be a good thing. There was already more than one little Complaints about the community event’s rewards being pretty meager for something that will last for two weeks, but since the event has already been completed, the Guardians may have some respite until Season 19 arrives on December 6. -Pre-season cinematic leaked a few days ago.
