Fearing Elon Musk’s takeover, Twitter users are destroying the social media site for good. South Park presents one of his best tweets with a response that will surely please Cartman wherever he is.
The show’s official Twitter posted Eric Cartman’s famous quote from the long-running animated series: “f**k you guys, I’m going home.” Whenever Cartman was in an uncomfortable situation, he would say this on his way out, contemplating the chaos that has reigned on the platform since Musk’s official purchase on October 18. 30, many Twitter users seem to have the same feeling.
Founded in March 2006, Twitter has undergone some major changes recently. Days after the acquisition was completed, Musk laid off thousands of employees from various departments including communications, marketing, ethical artificial intelligence, public policy and health. Additionally, Musk gave his employees an ultimatum to either sign up for long, high-intensity hours or leave the company. Many staff members chose to leave, and Musk responded by temporarily shutting down Twitter headquarters.
South Park Weighs
South Park has never hesitated to comment on or refer to major pop culture events. Previous comments on the show’s social media events include repeatedly taunting Facebook/Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. In the Season 21 episode titled “The Franchise Prequel,” Zuckerberg addressed the residents of South Park to brag about the fact that he can’t be blocked by anyone on Facebook. The sitcom also dedicated a Season 14 episode of “You Have 0 Friends” to Facebook, which saw Stan join Facebook despite his better judgment and become obsessed with it.
Musk himself appeared South Park During the Season 18 episode “Handicar”, where he joins Wacky Races with one of his Teslas. The new Twitter boss has also appeared in multiple Season 20 episodes. He tweeted his endorsement following his Season 18 appearance and cited Brian Boitano features, saying he’s a longtime fan of the series.
South Park released animated comedy TV movie South Park: Streaming Wars last June and its sequel, South Park: Streaming Wars – Part 2 In July. Both installments were written and directed by series co-creator Trey Parker. The most recent season of the sitcom, Season 25, aired on Comedy Central from February to March of this year. South Park He has yet to reveal when Season 26 will begin.
